Another long-awaited blog...

Hwah, so long never update my this blog liao.... A lot of events going on....

Performance choir in CHC

Was chosen to be in the performance choir in church for various performances. My 1st performance with the Performance Choir is when Mrs Cho came to CHC to preach at Expo. As she is a singer, pianist and composer herself, she especially loved the song we performed that time, which is Handel's Messiah (AKA Hallelujah Chrous.) My 2nd performance was during our church's 20th Anniversary some weeks back and was received with standing ovation. Coming 23rd Aug I'll be performing with the Millenial Orchestra in our first public concert at Victoria Theatre. Looking forward to it!! Here are some pics for the performances...

During our performance... Can spot me??

Me up close on stage... Who took this??? Hahaha...

Strikeforce

Talking about Strikeforce, I get excited as I have fallen deeply in love with drumming. There were a few gigs recently, including the gig for 4 weekends for Orchard Central. I had fun doing random rhythms for 3 of the 4 days. And some of us were wet, wet, wet due to playing the UDM (Ultimate Drumming Machine). We will be having another gig on Friday (14 Aug) for a YOG event at Padang. Details at http://www.singapore2010.sg/1_year_to_go

The cell phone and the Bible

Got this from Amanda Faith's Blog, who got from another friend, Thomas Tay's Blog. I like this, read on...

Ever wondered what would happen if we treated our Bible like we treat our cell phones? What if we carried it around in our purse or pocket? what if we flipped through it several times a day? what if we turned back to get it if we forgot it? what if we used it to recieve messages from the text? what if we treated it like we couldnt live without it? what if we gave it to kids as gifts? what if we used it when we traveled? what if we used it in case of emergency? This is something to make you go…hmm…wheres my Bible? And unlike our cell phone, we dont have to worry about our Bible being disconnected because Jesus already paid the bill.

Knock knock! i knocked on heavens door this morning. God asked me ‘My child, what can i do for you?’ And i said ‘ Father, please protect the person reading this message.’ God smiled and answered ‘request granted’

If you believe, send this to 7 people….
93% of you wont pass this on - are u in the 7% that will?

Quiz...

Check this out....

The Five Love Languages

My primary love languages are probably
Acts of Service and Quality Time.

Complete set of results

Acts of Service: 7
Quality Time: 7
Words of Affirmation: 7
Receiving Gifts: 5
Physical Touch: 4

Information

Unhappiness in relationships, according to Dr. Gary Chapman, is often due to the fact that we speak different love languages. Sometimes we don't understand our partner's requirements, or even our own. We all have a "love tank" that needs to be filled in order for us to express love to others, but there are different means by which our tank can be filled, and there are different ways that we can express love to others.

Fahrenheit in Singapore

"Da Jia Hao, Wo Men Shi Fahrenheit Fei Lun Hai!" (Hi everybody, we are Fahrenheit!)

This is what Fahrenheit always say when they appear on TV shows, autograph sessions and other events.

On the 29th of March, Fahrenheit was in Singapore to promote their 3rd album, Yue Lai Yue Ai (In Love More and More). Their autograph session was at IMM and private party at St James Power Station @ Vivocity. Yours truly here, won the tickets to the private party @ SJPH. Let me tell you about my experience with the boys and their fans...

The night before, I stayed at my friend, Phoebe's house as she was not feeling well. Her mum had not wanted to let her go for the autograph session but when she heard that she will be with me, she relented and let her daughter go, with the condition that I'll be with her all the time on that day. I agreed and decided to stay at her house as we will need to reach IMM at 7am to queue (the auto session supposed to start at 3pm, but as they were late, the session started at 4pm).

Anyway, we reached IMM at 7am sharp and went to join our friend, Joy, who queued overnight for us (thanks Joy!) outside Pepper Lunch (outside the building). After that, Serene and Roselin reached and Roselin went to join her Fan Club. We were asked to go up to the Garden Plaza and queue. Then we were given Number Tag with HIM's Company logo so that we can go out of the barricade's. At 2.15pm, all of us were prohibited to go out, even for toilet breaks, so we had to stay in the queue. At 3plus, the host of the auto session, YES 933 DJ Jiahui, came out and chatted with us till Fahrenheit came.

At 4pm, Fahrenheit finally appeared! They sang some songs and proceeded to sign autographs on the album's lyrics book (both the 1st version, black one, and the Gai Ban version, the white one.)

After the auto session, me, Phoebe, Huimin, Serene and Joy had wanted to take a cab to SJPH but as there were too many people and the cab driver wanted one of us to go separately, I, being the big sister of the group, volunteered to take MRT to Vivocity.

When I reached, the rest were already queuing at the venue. I went to redeem my two tickets, passed one to Phoebe and went to queue with Huimin and Joy (Phoebe had the privilege to take photo with Fahrenheit whereby I don have. Too bad lor!) We went in and stood (and seated) at the left side of the stage.

At 8plus, Fahrenheit reached (the autograph session at IMM ended at abt 8pm but they did not manage to sign all the albums due to time constraints). They sang some songs and was interviewed by the host, YES 933 DJ Peifen (My fav DJ!!!) My fav member, Aaron Yan Yalun, teared when he recalled that during their Taiwan autograph sessions for their 2nd album, his grandfather died of old age, but his family did not tell him about it becasue they want him to concentrate on his work first till the last autograph session for the album ended. When he got home, he felt a sad atmosphere around the house. It was then his parents told him about the sad news.

Here are a few photos of the events. The rest can be found on my Chinese Blog.

Happening 2009 so far

Beginning of 2009 is the most, most happening times so far. Let me elaborate....

My Birthday

Yes, My "eggday" has always been a celebration since I started work in my current company. Since I've transferred department for the past 11 months, coming to a year, totally no one celebrate any birthdays in my current dept till the day we had a farewell lunch at Sakura International Buffet for my Contract Manager (Mr Chua BH), it was my another Contract Manager, Gladys, who suggested that the details of all Tender Team staff be collected so as to celebrate birthdays. I was very "thick-skinned" to mention that my birthday was around the corner. Only a few of them knew about it.

The united Tender Team.

My birthday came. I went to work, as usual. Work, work, work till lunchtime, I went to lunch with my usual lunch khakis (all from Tender Team). We had lunch and went back to work, as per normal. Suddenly, at about 3pm, Wesley, one of the Contract Engineers, asked me to go and open the door to let a "sub-contractor", whom he didn't want to see, into the office. When I saw the two cafe ladies, whom I knew from a cafe at Level 2, I was thinking,"how come your are here?" then I saw on of them carrying a Cheese Cake, on top was written "Happy Birthday to June!" I was touched to tears as I had thought that no one remembered cuz everyone was busy with work. When I took the cake back to the dept, all of them, including my AVP, were inside the small meeting room near my table. They celebrated my birthday for me. They sang it so loud that everyone in the office heard it and wished me happy birthday when they saw me. I thanked them, especially Gladys who planned the whole thing. Tks my dear colleagues!!!

My Bday cheese cake... Mmm... Nice...

Me! Heeheehee....

Pi Li MIT (Mysterious Investigation Terminator)

Yah yah, I know it was out for a while now, but I just got to watch the first episode in mid Feb. Hwah, very nice leh!! Exciting show. The cast consists of Aaron Yan Yalun from Fahrenheit, Gui Gui from Hey Girl, Xiaogui (100% Entertainment), Fan Wei Qi (aka Fan Fan, singer/songwriter) Lu Ting Wei, Zhang Shan Jie (both acted in Ai Sha 17 staring Angela Zhang), Tian Li (a famous model) and Hong Du La Si (Zhong Yi Da Ge Da). The show is about investigating killings/ attempt to kill / revenge in a school called Shen Ying School, which is a school with "White List" and "Black List" "White List" refers to students who did extremely well in everything, studies, CCA and well behaved in the sight of the teacher, Tian Shi Lao Shi (Ms Angel) and "Black List" refers to students who did badly in anything and Tian Shi Lao Shi refers them as "useless students". If you like mysterious stuff, you might like this show.

From Left: 747 (Xiaogui), 187 (Lu Ting Wei), Ms Cherry aka Cherry Lao Shi (Fan Fan), 007 (Yalun) and Tian Mo Xing (Gui Gui)

Da Mouth In Singapore

Yes! Finally can see Da Mouth in Singapore! but too bad I got Strikeforce that day and had to rush back to Bugis just in time to see them ending the autograph session. I was so happy to see my fav member, Huai Chiu, who is a Korean-Chinese mix. He is the male lead singer of the group and he is so cute!!! Pics are uploaded in my Wretch album . Do check it out..

My Recent Dress Style (when I have the time to makeup, that is!)

I donno why, I am falling in love with Gothic style nowadays. Maybe its because its becoming a trend here in Singapore. Both me and Phoebe had the same feeling (she fell in love with Gothic too) and sometimes we go out together wearing Gothic. I am looking for nice Gothic which has my size. Any other recommendation other than 77th Street @ Bugis, Gothic shop at Jurong Point and another shop at Liang Court? Any recommendation?

Recent Events

Hai, so long time never blog here already!!! Really miss blogging...

Asia Conference 2008

CHC organised the first ever Asia Conference on Nov 19 - 23. I served on all the sessions, 5 days, 10 sessions, 9 sessions in choir and 1 session in Strikeforce. There were a lot of guest speakers, special performances and guest P&W leaders in this conference. I can't describe it with words, so I'll let the pics do the talking. More can be found in my Wretch Album.

MFBBT New Didis

I know that the 2nd Generation of Didis have existed for almost 2 months already, but I have yet to blog abt it. Let me introduce them here:

(Left to Right) 1st row: Xiao Bang, Ah Liang, ICE, Ah Pang; 2nd row: WanZi, ABC, YouZi, Dada; 3rd row: Xiaohu (Eliminated), Xiaogu (Eliminated), Tanke, Xiatian (Eliminated); 4th row: Eason, Liang Mian, Dui Zhang, Yoyo (New); 5th row: JianTu (New), Huya (from 1st Gen), Xiaole (from 1st Gen).

Of course, I have my favs too...

1) Xiao Bang - He is really musically talented. He can sing and play double bass, keyboard, drums, guitar and bass guitar. He is the youngest of the class at 15 years of age.

2) ABC - He is a great singer born overseas. He's really an ABC (American Born Chinese) and thus working hard to learn the Chinese Language. He was in Xing Guan San Ban (same batch as Huang Jing Lun from Singapore) top 20 finalists. His nice smile has attracted lots of girls all over the world.

3) Xiao Xiao - Being the shortest of the class (167cm), he used his kuso (funny) dances moves and humble personality to shine over his weakness.

4) ICE - Another ABC, ICE is born in Taiwan but went to Brazil to stay for a while. He is the magician of the class and never fail to impress others with his magic. He impressed the pop band Boyzone with his magic in one episode. They were amazed by his performances.

5) Ah Liang - The leader of the class. He was in the same CCA as Weiyu and Huya in school. His sleek dance moves and outgoing personality raises him up to be the leader of the class.

6) Eason - One of the heartthrob of the class. Similar to Owodog from Lollipop, he looks a bit like Edison Chen. He dances Krump, which is a kind of dance that shows anger and the desire to fight using dance moves. Currently he is working in a well-known hair salon in Taiwan called EROS as a hair stylist. He is BBT's future professional hair stylist.

7) Yoyo - A new didi, came out from a new variety show hosted by Lollipop Owodog, Ah Wei, Xiaojie, Hey Girl Apple and Rongjia called Na Li 5 Da Cang. As his performance in the variety show is very good, the Overall-in-charge, Andy Ge, asked him and another guy, Jian Tu, to be in the class directly, without any audition.

8) Ah Man - The elder brother of Blackie Yao Yao and the younger brother of Hey Girl Apple, Ah Man is the most humble, hardworking, funny and nicest guy ever on BBT. At home, he is the "servant" of his two sisters, which confirms the fact taht if he can take good care of his sisters, he can take good care of his future girlfriend/wife.

That's all for now....

Crossroads WD

I know I know, I am a bit TOO WOLS to blog about the Crossroads WD, since it was 3 weeks ago kind of thing... But due to busyness and waiting for photos, I can oli blog on it now...

Anyway, I had so much fun at Bintan that I nearly don wanna come back to Singapore. Since I am involved in both the drama and wedding choir, I went there on Friday (the actual wedding was on Saturday afternoon). Together with 90% of the cast, the jiemeis and brothers and the couple themselves, we checked in and boarded the ferry at Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal at 9am.

Upon reaching Bintan, we checked out and boarded the bus to our apartments. 4 rooms were allocated: Me, Erika, Liz and Pris in one room, the guys in one room, Thati, Rubez, Serena and Jasmine in one room and the rest of the girls in one room. We went for lunch in a restaurant at an outdoor kind of shopping centre. The food there was cheap and good. Guess wat I ate?

Ans: Fried Rice with REAL CRAB!!! Cost: S$5.00

I got a shock of my life as this was the first time I ever seen Fried Rice with real crab for S$5. I was actually expecting the crabs to be, you know, crabstick, lots of it. After that we did what Singaporeans always do all year round: shopping! I bought this cute and nice batik tube and I love it so much! It costed me S$17 though... I bought a dark pink sleeveless top for S$6. Then we went for rehearsal at the venue itself.

The place was near the sea and it was very beautiful. We had rehearsals with lots of changes in the script. We did a dry run and made changes pertaining to our standing positions, our going in and going out, dance, timing, etc. Then we went to the beach to play! To my amazement, the sand was very fine and very nice to step on, comparing to the sand at the beach in Singapore, which is not that fine.

After that, we went for dinner at a very cosy restaurant opposite the open air shopping centre. We were supposed to be there by 7.30pm, but due to the bus was delayed at Nirwana Gardens (the actual wedding location), we reached at abt 8.30pm. The lady boss and one of her workers was very kind as to wait for us till then. Not only that, when we reached late, they welcomed us with huge smiles. I was actually expecting them not to be too happy as they were having their fasting month and were supposed to close at around 7.30pm. We felt so bad to have them wait for us for so long. We had our dinner and proceeded back to our apartments to prepare for a full dress rehearsal in Joy's Supreme room.

There, there are changes again. My lines, which was originally in Chinese (as it was supposed to be in Chinese Church), was changed to English as the words spoken by me are not smooth at all. After it was changed, it was a lot better as I feel more comfortable to speak in English than Chinese (if you want me to translate it myself, that is!)

After the rehearsal, its time to BATH!!!! After bathing, we wento down to fellowship in Joy's room. Our handsome chefs, Vincent and Jiarong, cooked for us. I had no chance to eat the food as I was too tired and went up to rest.

Our chefs amongst the guys

The next morning, we woke up at around 6am and met at around 7pm. We had breakfast at the same place where we had our dinner the night before. It was buffet style breakfast and it was nice! After breakfast, we went back to pack our stuff and got ready to go to Nirwana Gardens for the actual thing.

When we reached, Mediacorp crew was already there. We prepared for soundcheck plus standing position before the actual thing started. MDC was recording our rehearsals, so the whole wedding (maybe?) will be telecasted on Channel 8 in around Nov. Telecast date is not confirmed yet...

They say pictures speaks a thousand words, so here they are

The cast and crew of Crossroads WD

More pics can be found at my friendster a few days later....
